Bye Bye, Dixie Stampede Building, Hello Shops

Not many of our readers may know this, but Orlando was once home of Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, a lively dinner show that definitely had a very patriotic feeling. The Orlando version of the show debuted in June of 2003, but then closed in January 2008 after after the company had been offered a considerable amount of money for the space formerly occupied by the dinner show. After that deal, an flea market briefly opened, but then closed almost immediately due to multiple issues. After years of being vacant, the demolition of that large building started in November 2012 (that is, now!). So, now that you have a bit of a background information, check out the current status of the demolition (NOTE: these photos were taken a few days ago):

A hint of what will replace that building... More shops!:

Yes, this area will soon be redeveloped, and will become an extension of the already present Orlando Premium Outlets, which has always coexisted in the same area. We'll keep you updated on the status of the work.
